Shine Factory is a Canadian auto protection and detail franchise which originated in Calgary, Alberta in the 1970's. It is the largest organization of its kind in Canada with representation across the country. Our Shine Factory in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia is one of the largest in Eastern Canada and was started in Oakhill on January 2, 1986. The operation was moved to Auto Row, Hebbville (just outside Bridgewater) in 1988.

Owner / Manager Ian Tufts combined his many years of experience in the automotive sector, a love of cars and his entrepreneurial drive to start the Shine Factory.

In 1986 auto detailing was in its infancy and Ian served on Shine factory's National advisory board planning the future of Shine Factory. This required numerous hours and many trips to Calgary compiling the National product and service manuals. Today these are used nation wide as reference material.

It also required research and development for new products and methods as well as extensive testing of existing products. This is an ongoing process designed to keep Shine Factory at the forefront of automotive detailing and maintain its dedication to superior quality and complete customer satisfaction.

Bridgewater Shine Factory was also one of the first Canadian operations to join the International Car Wash Association which has a membership world wide.

Ian has attended Detailing conventions throughout the US and has received numerous Shine Factory awards, including Outstanding Performance Award and Sales Achievement Award.
